Abstract

The article is devoted to conducting a computational experiment and stress test based on the simulation model of non-residents’ participation in the Federal loan bond market constructed by the authors. The model is implemented on the basis of a discrete-stochastic formalization scheme. In the framework of mathematical modeling of non-residents’ participation in the Federal loan bond market, the key task is to determine the overall stability of the system and the degree of impact of critical events occurring in the market on the state economy, what helps to make informed management decisions to ensure economic security. As a result of the experiment, numerical estimates of the main characteristics of the market were obtained and the quality of the model in terms of its structural stability was checked. The impact of changes in the Federal loan bond market caused by the activities of non-residents on the exchange rate of the Russian ruble and on the yield of securities in future issues was assessed. The stress test is based on the assumption that non-residents simultaneously reset all Federal loan bonds that they hold. The results of a computational experiment and a stress test gave an assessment of investments in the Russian economy by the regulator that will be required if the described scenario is implemented.

Abstract

The article examines the most important steps taken by the Fed and other central banks in the face of the onset of the pandemic. Their actions, mainly the Fed, helped to soften the shock to the global economy. One can even say that the American financial system has been rebuilt in a mobilization manner. At the same time, such restructuring began even before the onset of COVID-19, what allows us to conclude that the monetary authorities, under the guise of a pandemic, accelerated measures to actually reformat financial markets. Something happened in the global financial system that required completely unprecedented measures, and not only on behalf of representatives of the world’s largest banks, who were still associated with the Fed’s shareholders, came to the fore in their development and implementation, but representatives of the largest investment groups such as BlackRock, Vanguard Funds, Fidelity Investments, State Street Global, Goldman Sachs.

Abstract

The development of foreign trade relations between the European Union (EU) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is influenced by many historical, political, economic, and other factors. The EU considers the EAEU an important partner in terms of imports of strategic raw materials and geographic interconnections on the Eurasian continent. The European Union has a long-term negative trade balance with the EAEU. Mutual foreign trade relations were significantly influenced not only by the sanctions between the EU and Russia but also by the unfavorable price dynamics in the world energy commodity markets, which led to a reduction in their mutual trade. There has been a steady decline in the development of the EU’s comparative advantages over the EAEU. The EU has the largest revealed comparative advantage in machinery and transport equipment, which is also its largest export article. On the contrary, it has the greatest comparative disadvantages in the case of mineral fuels, which account for almost 70% of total EAEU imports. Analysis of intraindustry trade shows that growth is observed in almost all groups, with the greatest growth in food, beverages, and tobacco. Intra-industry trade between the EU and the EAEU is of greatest importance in the group of other goods. In the case of mutually beneficial trade relations between the EU and the EAEU, it is necessary to remedy the geopolitical and geo-economic context and transform the economies under review. At the same time, in connection with the current COVID-19 pandemic, one can expect a significant restructuring of the global economic system aimed at achieving the main goals of economic policy,  such as sustainable, non-inflationary economic growth and low unemployment, what will significantly affect the mutual trade relations of the considered integration groups.

Abstract

The article considers the historical conditions and natural resource potential of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which predetermined their cooperation in the fuel and energy complex as a priority area. The study also defines the energy component of trade and the institutional structure of the EAEU. The different importance of cooperation in the field of fuel and energy complex for different countries is determined. For Russia’s national security, in which energy provides its foreign trade, the main thing is the demand security, and for other EAEU countries it is the supply security, which is the basis of their stable economic development. The step-bystep creation of energy markets should take into account the requirements of the global energy transition, contribute to the development of Eurasian integration and increase the pace of economic development of countries as a whole.
