Abstract

The article deals with the use of digital technologies in education. It is noted that the development of modern society is closely connected with scientific and technological progress, and above all, with the development of technical devices and information technologies.
Modern technological innovations have great opportunities and development prospects. The use of information and communication technologies makes it possible to enrich, qualitatively update educational process and increase its effectiveness.
The article describes the key technological innovations of recent years and features of their application in the educational process. The advantages, disadvantages, and limitations of using digital technologies in educational institutions of various levels (schools, colleges, and Universities) are considered in detail. The prospects of using digital technologies in distance education to increase interest and motivation in learning are evaluated.
It is emphasized that information technologies should not replace the entire process of education and the process of face-to-face communication between students and teachers. The key element in such multi-factor process is the desire of the teacher to introduce creativity and innovation in the educational process, to use more modern, accessible and effective ways to convey information to students.
The author formulated proposals for the use of digital technologies in modern educational practice.
