Features of extracurricular project activities of students and its impact on the formation of competencies

Abstract

Modern education today is faced with new challenges, thus the task of training such specialists who have not only good theoretical training, but also practical training has become urgent. The article considers the specifics of students’ project activities within the framework of socially significant and culturally creative orientation. Such a type of activity helps to solve the tasks that are provided for by the new educational standards of higher education. The relationship between student involvement in extracurricular activities and its impact on the formation of general cultural and professional competencies is extremely high in the modern world, as employers’ demands for graduates of higher education institutions are growing from year to year due to globalization, technology development and automation of many processes, and students acquire the necessary competencies not only within the curriculum. but also from the outside. In the article the authors analyze the key aspects of students’ extracurricular project activities, project features, phases of its life cycle, as well as its impact on the formation of competencies. The potential scientific and practical value of the study lies in the fact that the article serves as a basis for a broader study of the subject under consideration, as well as for the application of the obtained data in further training of competent specialists.
