Abstract

The article identifies the main trends in recruiting, selection and onboarding of IT professionals. The research method involved a review of several publications and researches on issues of staffing for IT companies over the past four years; it assesses the causes behind the current labor market situation in the IT industry. The analysis revealed that IT companies have begun to focus on long-term personnel provision tools due to the inability to continue poaching specialists from a shrinking pool of candidates. The author identified and considered two popular methods for developing human resources – implementing internship programs for young professionals and recruiting highly qualified experts from abroad. Particular attention is paid to changes in IT recruitment practices and the use of various tools to attract skilled technical talent. The author concludes that the IT job market continues to face significant challenges, which can be addressed through comprehensive solutions at both corporate and sectoral levels. Therefore, under the current circumstances, there is a need to implement long-term human resource development programs by nurturing young talents and attracting experienced professionals from abroad.
